Emory Harkins is a writer living in Providence, RI. He holds a BFA in creative writing, with a minor in sustainability studies, from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. His fiction has been published in Cosmonauts Avenue, Joyland Magazine, Malibu Magazine, Vol 1. Brooklyn, has won second place in Glimmer Train's Short Story Award for New Writers, and was a semi-finalist in American Short Fiction's Short(er) Fiction Contest judged by Justin Torres. He has studied and worked with writers such as James Hannaham, Molly Antopol, and Jensen Beach. He has also worked as a creative writing, english, and reading comprehension teacher for students between the ages of 8-14, as an art handler and installer at MoMA PS1 in Queens, NY, and as a woodworker's assistant. He is Co-Founder of Twenty Stories: LA's Mobile Bookstore.
